Applying

  • For more information on how to apply, please visit our ‘How to Apply’ page
  • Once you are enrolled in the program, you will be registered for your course(s) abroad and will receive a SHU ID number.

Before You Go

  • Meet with your home study abroad advisor before applying to a SHU program as your own school may have internal deadlines and requirements you need to complete in order to participate.
  • Meet with your academic advisor to review your degree and graduation requirements and to discuss your plans to study abroad. With careful planning, a period of study abroad should fit into your program and not delay progress towards your degree.
  • Pay your SHU study abroad bill to the Office of Student Accounts or the Bursar's Office at your home institution. You will received specific instruction regarding this once you have been registered.

After You Return

  • Fill out our online program evaluation, and share any additional comments and feedback!
  • Following completion of the program, we will request that your transcript be sent to your home institution as per the details of the Transcript Request Form that you would have previously completed and submitted to Global Engagement.

Testimonials

  • "Being from an outside institution, I was nervous about joining a SHU program, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Everyone was so welcoming and by the end of the trip, I did not want to leave. Studying in Dingle allowed me to step back and experience something that I wouldn't get anywhere else. I learned to step outside of my comfort zone and to be where my feet are. I loved my time in Dingle and I will remember the fun times we had for years to come." Lauren Lyons, University of Scranton student, SHU in Dingle participant
  • "Since I didn't know anyone going on this program, I was nervous. However, I am so glad that I took a chance and went on this program. The two weeks in Dingle, Ireland were some of the best weeks I've ever had. This program was full of new experiences and new friendships. I made one of my best decisions by going on this program. I've learned that taking chances can lead to amazing and once in a lifetime experiences." Katherine Roughan, University of Scranton student, SHU in Dingle participant
